FragMAX provides access to several fragment libraries.
Our standard library is the in-house developed FragMAXlib collection. It currently contains 159 fragments, which are solubilised in DMSO at nominal concentrations of 500 mM. Initially, we solubilized powders of the fragments in DMSO ourselves, but as of 2026, we obtain the library directly from Enamine.
In addition, we offer access to:
- the EU-OPENSCREEN fragment library (100mM, 968 compounds)
- the DSI-poised library (500mM, 860 compounds)
- the MiniFrag library (1M, 80 compounds)
All libraries are formatted in 96-well plates with each well containing 1 µL of the respective fragment. Plates are stored at –80 °C and a fresh plate is used for each experiment.
If your crystal system cannot tolerate DMSO, we can evaporate the solvent and resolubilise fragments in a compatible solution. We have successfully used this approach for several projects, particularly for crystals grown in salt-based conditions, with hit rates comparable to “conventional” DMSO soaks.
We can also screen user-supplied fragment collections. If you plan to do this, please contact us well in advance so that we have sufficient time to discuss safety aspects with the MAX IV experimental safety team.
