All X-ray diffraction datasets are collected in automated mode at the BioMAX beamline. Data collection is carried out by the FragMAX team, and users are typically not involved at this stage, as we make flexible use of available beamtime slots.
Before starting the experiment, we discuss expected resolution, sensitivity to radiation damage and other relevant aspects with you. At the beginning of each screening campaign, we collect several fragment-free reference datasets to confirm that the diffraction behaviour matches what you have observed previously. If we identify any discrepancies between expected and observed behaviour, we will contact you immediately so that next steps can be discussed. Our overall aim is to ensure that the highest possible data quality is achieved throughout the experiment.
