MAX IV Programme Advisory Committee (PAC)
MAX IV Laboratory issues regular calls for proposals for experiment time at the beamlines – beamtime – through an open procedure.
To assist in the allocation of beamtime, a MAX IV Programme Advisory Committee (PAC) is appointed. The committee reviews and evaluates submitted proposals and provides recommendations for the allocation of beamtime, based on the scientific excellence and feasibility of the suggested experiments.

PAC Onsite 2026
The Fall 2026 PAC meeting will be held onsite in Lund on October 22-23. The registration link will be sent to PAC members and secretaries by email.
If you have any questions, please contact pac-onsite@maxiv.lu.se.
The PAC Onsite sessions will be held at MAX IV Laboratory (Fotongatan 2, Lund) and at The Loop (Rydbergs Torg 4, Lund. Each PAC will be assigned a meeting room in either MAX IV or The Loop. More information will be shared closer to the meeting.
Plenary sessions and lunches will take place at The Loop, which is a 10-minute walk from MAX IV.
It is also possible to take the tram between the two locations. The closest tram stop to MAX IV is MAX IV, and the closest tram stop to The Loop is ESS.
Accommodation will be provided at Motel L (Telefongatan 14, Lund). Breakfast is included.
The hotel is near the Solbjer tram stop, two stops away from MAX IV and three stops away from The Loop. It is a 20-minute walk to MAX IV and a 30-minute walk to The Loop.
The closest international airport to Lund is Copenhagen Airport (Kastrup) in Denmark. It takes about 35 minutes from the airport to Lund Central Station by train. Train tickets from Kastrup to Lund C can be purchased from:
- The Swedish Skånetrafiken ticket machines.
- Through the Skånetrafiken app (check your app store).
- The Danish DSB ticket machines or DSB ticket office in the arrivals hall at Copenhagen Airport.
Please note that you need to buy the ticket before you enter the train and that you cannot purchase a ticket on the train.
Groups of two or more people will receive a discount if buying the “Duo”/”Family”/”Together” type of ticket. If you buy a ticket from Copenhagen Airport to Lund, it will also be valid to travel onward to your destination within Lund.
The closest domestic airport is Malmö Airport. From Malmö Airport, there are coaches called “Flygbussarna“ to Malmö C, where you can then take a train to Lund C.
While traveling in Lund or Malmö (the green city buses and tram) you can use contactless payment to pay for a ticket, read more: Skånetrafiken – Köp biljett (in the upper right corner you find a globe with the text “Översätt” or “Translate”, pick “Engelska” for English).
