Many of today’s most pressing healthcare challenges including cancer, cardiovascular, neurodegenerative, musculoskeletal, and chronic inflammatory diseases; arise from biological processes that span several orders of magnitude in length scale.
MAX IV, the national synchrotron facility in Lund, is planning a new X-ray tomography beamline dedicated to non-invasive imaging of soft and hard biological materials across these scales, from sub-cellular structures and individual cells to tissues, organs, biomaterials, and even small in vivo animal models.
This workshop will present the vision, scope, and scientific opportunities of the future beamline. We aim to bring together researchers, prospective users, clinicians, facility experts, and stakeholders to discuss the needs of the scientific community and help shape the beamline’s capabilities and scientific priorities.
Join us for a full-day event to learn about the potential of advanced synchrotron X-ray imaging, hear from leading scientists in the field, and contribute your ideas and requirements for the next generation of biomedical imaging infrastructure.
Whether you are an experienced imaging researcher, have a biological or medical question that could benefit from advanced imaging, or are simply curious about the possibilities offered by synchrotron-based tomography, we welcome your participation.
Those not in Stockholm/Uppsala area will have the option of joining online for some sessions.
Coffee and lunch will be provided.
