It is possible to publish your data and acquire a DOI at scicat.maxiv.lu.se.

Step 1: Select dataset(s) to publish

Find your datasets in the main dataset view and select the ones you want to publish by clicking the corresponding checkboxes.

Step 2: Add to selection

Click on “Add to Cart” to add the datasets to the selection. You should see a badge with number of selected datasets on a “Document” icon top right. Click on this icon and then on “Actions”. You should now be on scicat.maxiv.lu.se/datasets/selection where there is a list of the datasets you selected.

End this step by clicking on the link “Publish” which should take you to scicat.maxiv.lu.se/datasets/selection/publish

Step 3: Fill in metadata about your published data

Title and Abstract should have been auto-filled.

There are some mandatory fields to fill in for the section “Metadata”: Creators, Publisher and Resource Type.

Creators

Add one or many creators. Click on the + icon to add the first one and additional ones. Only Name is required.

Publisher

Required fields are Publisher Name and Publisher Identifier Scheme.

  • Publisher Name should be “MAX IV Laboratory”.
  • Publisher Identfier is “https://ror.org/03q28x580”.
  • Publisher Identifier Scheme is “ror”.

Resource Type

Select “Dataset” in the dropdown list.

Click on “Save and Continue” to finish this step.

Step 4: Publish

Verify the information and click “Publish” to make the selection of datasets public.

Then click “Register” to register with DataCite and acquire a DOI. You can see the DOI in the section “General Information”.
