MAX IV now opens its doors 24/7, 365 days a year, virtually! Come experience the MAX IV universe and the high-tech research infrastructure. The virtual tour is available on MAX IV web.
MAX IV has always intrigued the curious minds. Beyond the curiosity about the important research happening every day at MAX IV, the research infrastructure itself is captivating to many. What exists behind the thick walls and doughnut-shaped building? As part of MAX IV’s commitment to science outreach and education, sharing the MAX IV universe of research with the world, the facility has now launched a MAX IV virtual tour. This new tool greatly expands the public’s access to the facility, allowing the number of guests who can view the facility to increase exponentially.
Now visitors can visit MAX IV anytime, from anywhere in the world, from the comfort of their home or classroom. The tour also works in a phone’s web browser. No need to travel long and far to learn about the science and history of MAX IV! The virtual tour is available on: MAX IV web>virtual tour.
Virtual visitors can gain a general overview of MAX IV by looking at the different locations or dive deep and learn about the equipment and processes at MAX IV by reading the pop-up facts displayed around the facility. The information presented from both scientific and general perspectives, with hundreds of facts about MAX IV, making it interesting for curious minds. The tour is available in both English and Swedish.
The virtual tour showcases even the areas inaccessible to on-site visitors. You will be able to get a sneak peek into the accelerators, the Klystron gallery, and some of the existing beamlines: BioMAX, Veritas, and FemtoMAX.
The virtual tour is a long time coming, with many MAX IV staff involved in the project and making it happen. Updates will be made incrementally as the facility expands and evolves.
Enjoy your (virtual) visit to MAX IV!
