Education & Outreach

Fueling curiosity
through discovery

As Sweden’s national synchrotron research facility, we are dedicated not only to world-leading science but also to making our methods and discoveries accessible and engaging.

Through school collaborations, university partnerships, public events, and guided visits to our unique facility, we invite partners and educators alike to explore the hidden structures of matter and the powerful tools used to study them. Whether you’re planning a group visit or seeking educational materials, our outreach efforts aim to spark your curiosity for synchrotron science.

Education outreach

A cornerstone of our educational mission is the PRISMAS PhD Programme (PhD Research and Innovation in Synchrotron Methods and Applications in Sweden), co-funded by the European Union’s Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions COFUND initiative. This programme will trains PhD students in advanced synchrotron methods and techniques, focusing on their application in addressing current and future societal challenges.

Through initiatives like PRISMAS, along with our Open Day, seminars, and tailored visits, our facility also serves as a dynamic platform for learning and collaboration. MAX IV is committed to inspiring the next generation of scientists by providing access to state-of-the-art research as well as fostering a deeper understanding of our discoveries.
