General eligibility requirements for doctoral studies apply to the PRISMAS application process. To be eligible for a PRISMAS research project, you must meet the applicant criteria below.

Applicant eligibility criteria

• Comply with the MSCA mobility rule.

Applicants of all nationalities are eligible​. However, you may not apply if you have resided or carried out your main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Sweden for more than 12 months during the below mentioned period, unless as part of a procedure for obtaining refugee status under the Geneva Convention.

  • First call (open in March-April): 2020-05-01 to 2023-05-02 (three years immediately preceding the call deadline 2nd May 2023)
  • Second call (open in Sept-Oct): 2020-10-30 to 2023-10-31 (three years immediately preceding the call deadline 31st October 2023); for positions with extended call: 2020-11-16 to 2023-11-17; three years immediately preceding the call deadline 17th November 2023

• Be a doctoral candidate. 

Applicants cannot already be in possession of a doctoral degree at the deadline of the PRISMAS program’s call. 

• Hold a university degree 

The general entry requirements are a completed second cycle degree or completed courses worth at least 240 ECTS credits (of which at least 60 credits in the second cycle). This includes physics, engineering, chemistry, or other topics defined in the specific description for each position. The relevant study programs for each position will be defined according to the requirements of each Implementing Partner University. This requirement needs to be fulfilled at the time of employment (planned for September 2023; second call: March 2024).

• Be available for employment 

Being able to attend at the set start date of the PRISMAS program.
