The seven first beamlines at MAX IV

The seven first beamlines at MAX IV

A booklet has seen the light! It highlights the first phase beamlines funded by the Knut and Alice Wallenberg (KAW) foundation which are now is gradually going into operation. The booklet is an attempt to visualise the quite challenging journey from the first ideas discussed more than a decade ago to beamlines that are now starting to serve users.

It also describes the long and very fruitful relationship MAX-lab and MAX IV Laboratory have had with the KAW foundation. A relationship that started more than 30 years ago. Without KAW’s generous contributions over all these years the development enabling MAX IV would clearly not have happened. The beamlines will, of course, continue their journey accepting more users, adding more capabilities and tweaking the parameters to fully become seven flagship beamlines utilising the performance given by the MAX IV accelerators and thereby combining properties like the unique brilliance and coherence of the X-ray beam with state-of-the-art instrumentation.
