Running top-up into both rings concurrently

During the night of Oct 20/21, we for the first time ran top-up injections into both rings during the same shift. The 3 GeV storage ring was being topped up between 2.9 and 3.0 mA (green trace in the graph above, Amps on right axis), while the 1.5 GeV storage ring was topped up between 4 and 4.5 mA (red trace, Amps on left axis). Since lifetime in the 1.5 GeV ring is presently still substantially lower than in the 3 GeV ring, top-up shots to the 1.5 GeV ring were far more frequent — roughly ever 22 min vs. ~300 min in the 3 GeV ring.

The linac was switched back and forth between topping up either ring automatically throughout the night. This also means that the linac now has a set of accelerating gradients, optics, and trajectory that satisfies both ring injection requirements simultaneously.
