The new ICE (Ions in Coincidence with Electrons) endstation is a mobile facility to be used by the MAX IV LDM community at a variety of beamlines. At FlexPES it can be placed at the first focal point of the LDM branch (upstream the permanent LDM-PES endstation).

 

By using a combination of multi-coincidence and momentum imaging techniques and linearly polarized soft x-rays, it will be possible to obtain complete kinematic information on specific dissociation channels in a reaction – affording insight into the interplay between competing decay processes, the role of nuclear motion in a decay process and the relevant time-scales.
